Biography

Born on October 2, 1956 in Seoul, Eunhye Kim demonstrated her musical versatility by studying the piano, violin and viola between the ages of 9 and 18. She studied music composition with Sung-Tae Kim(b.1910) for her undergraduate degree and with Sukhi Kang (b.1934) for her master’s studies at Seoul National University. Her master’s thesis was a comparison of the analytical methods of several Schenkerian theorists.
In 1986, She went to France for advanced studies in composition, analytical techniques, and musicology. At the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique in Lyon, she took courses in composition and twentieth-century music analysis, and received her D.E.A. from Lyon University. She completed her doctoral dissertation in musicology at the University of Paris/Sorbonne in 1996. She is a composition professor of Music department at Suwon University in Korea.
