Karlsson, Finnur - M - Iceland 

 
 

 

Biography

Finnur Karlsson has studied composition at the Iceland Academy of the Arts and the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Finnur’s main composition teachers have been Hans Abrahamsen, Niels Rosing-Schow, Simon Løffler, Úlfar Ingi Haraldsson and Atli Ingólfsson. Finnur is currently enrolled in an advanced postgraduate program at the RDAM.
Finnur’s music has been performed by various ensembles, including Brák Baroque Band, TAK, Copenhagen Phil, Caput, Slowind and Iceland Amateur Symphony Orchestra. Finnur was a composer in residence at the Skálholt Summer Concerts in 2015, and was nominated to the Icelandic Music Awards for the piece commissioned by the festival.
