Kamimoto, Mari - F - Japan 

 
 

 

Biography

Born in 1975 in Kobe, Japan, Mari Kamimoto optained a master's degree in composition at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2001. She entered the Conservatory in Paris in 2002, where she studied with F.Durieux(composition prize in 2006), L.Naon, Y.Geslin and T.Mays (new technologies), M.Levinas(First prize for analysis in 2005), D.Cohen (orchestration prize in 2007). For 2005-2006 she received a bursary offered by the Japanese government to artistes living abroad. She came back to Tokyo in 2007, since 2009 she was been assistant teacher at Tokyo University of the Arts, Toho Gakuen School of Music and the Kunitachi College of Music. her pieces have been performed in France, Slovenia, Tokyoetc. by various ensemble (Ensemble InterContemporain, Ensemble Aleph, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra) and also by excellent solists as Rieko Aizawa, Asako Inoue etc. She organized one of the concert series which title is [Les tems croises] in 2009 and 2013 in Tokyo. In this series, she produced the mixed programming of her pieces and F. Durieux in 2013. In 2015, she will collaborate the new piece with Ensemble Muromachi(ensemble for Japanese traditional instruments and western antique instruments).
