Biography

Dragana Jovanović, (1963)

Doctor of MusicalArts, Composer, Associte Professor, Department of Music Theory, Faculty of Music Arts (FMU) at the University of Belgrade.
Dragana's compositions encompass a range of genres: artistic, pop, movie soundtracks, stage and performance as well as music for children.

In addition to composing, Dragana's practice includes pedagogy and study of theory relevant to music. She wrote several works on the subject of theory of harmony.

She was a founding contributor of the Department for Jazz and Pop Music at FMU.
Her compositions are regularly perfomed in Europe, USA and South America.

Dragana is a recepient of number of awards and professional recognitions including:
• Award funds “Stevan Hristić” for her doctoral thesys Usijanje (Fieriness)
• Second place award for composition AB RE 1999 for electric guitar and orchestra at the International Composing Competition 2 Agosto, Bologna, 1999.
• „Golden Badge“ for lasting contribution to culture оf Serbia 2010.
• Multiple awards in the Pop music genre.
