Biography

Sanae Ishida was born in Nagasaki. In 2002, she studied the composition at the Tokyo University of the Arts and in 2007, graduated in composition at the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique.
She received a scholarship for the season 2006/07 by the Agency of the cultural affairs of Japan. She was selected as a composer in residence with the Linea ensemble in 2008 and also was invited as a guest composer to the Atlas Akademy organized by the Atlas ensemble in Amsterdam in 2009. In 2015, she was awarded the André Jolivet composition Award.
Her works have been performed by Soloists of Ensemble Intercontemporain, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Linea ensemble, Atlas ensemble, Le Balcon ensemble, Orchestre National de National Orchestra, Accroche Note etc.
