Biography

Ross Harris is one of New Zealand’s leading composers. He has written more than two hundred compositions including opera, symphonic music, chamber music, klezmer and electronic music. His major works include six string quartets, five symphony and Violin, Cello and Tuba concertos. His collaborations with poet Vincent O’Sullivan have produced two operas, a symphony, three song cycles and Requiem for the Fallen. The Otago Daily Times review of the most recent performance (19/10/2014) of the Requiem described it as: "a work that is both stunningly impressive and emotionally draining.”
