Biography

Geoffrey studied composition with Claude Ledoux (Mons, BE), Thierry Blondeau and Francis Courtot (Lille and Paris). He also got a degree in musicology (F. Courtot) with a thesis about the music theatre of George Aperghis. In 2003 he co-founded in Nothern France “Sémaphone” an association devoted to the promotion of new music. As a stage director he developed a taste for music theatre which lead to the founding of his own company: “l’Indiscrète”, with which he collaborates with poets Ludovic Degroote and Chalres Pennequin. Interested in the phenomenon of perception, in his music he proposes to experience the “impulse for life” through active listening. His works have been performed in Mons, Paris, Canterbury, Mexico etc…by among others Multilatérales, Nahandove, Sturm und Klang, Pierre-Olivier Queyras, José-Luis Garcia-Jimenez. Geoffrey teaches music at the Conservatory of Mons and in schools in Brussels.
