Biography

AMEN Feizabadi, born in 1983 in Tehran / Iran, is a composer, video artist and musician.
His professional activity began in Iran, as "Setar" player, flute player and composer of
pieces that were aligned with the fusion of oriental and western-classical music worlds.
He studied classical music at the University of Arts in Tehran and later in Germany
integrative composition with Prof. Günter Steinke and Prof. Dietrich Hahne at the
Folkwang University in Essen.
As Scholarship holder of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, he was with several works
represented at various festivals, exhibitions and concerts in Germany as well as in Iran,
Canada, Poland and the Netherlands. In 2012 he received an award in the category
"special award" for its visual music „telling of a story“ from VISIONEN- Festival of Media
Arts in Hannover.
His pieces were played by various Ensemble inter alia Ensemble Musikfabrik and Ensemble
Folkwang Modern. His orchestral piece Tasnif was premiered in March 2014 by Bochum
Symphony Orchestra.
