Biography

Meliha Doğuduyal(1959, Istanbul) is a multifaceted musician who has worked as composer, pianist, collaborative artist, educator and author. Her musical language is a synthesis of traditional and experimental approaches embraced a diversity of stylesand practices. She has written numerous types of compositions, including orchestral works and electronic music that have been broadcast on radio, recorded on compact discs, and performed in music festivals in Europe and  Asia. She has also enjoyed collaborating with visual artists, filmmakers and dancers on multimedia projects. Doğuduyal studied piano and composition at the Mimar Sinan University Conservatory in Istanbul, and advanced composition at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. Her composition teachers included Ilhan Usmanbaş, Louis Andriessen and Theo Loevendie.  At present she lives and works as a composer and pianist in The Netherlands.
