Claren, Sebastian - M - Germany 

 
 

 

Biography

Sebastian Claren, born 1965 in Mannheim/Germany, studied composition, musicology,
history of art and philosophy in Heidelberg, Berlin and Freiburg. His dissertation in
musicology about the complete works of Morton Feldman was published in 2000. Artist
residencies brought him to Los Angeles, New York, Paris and Rome. He received
numerous prices like the Kranichsteiner Musikpreis, the Stuttgarter Kompositionspreis and
the Ernst von Siemens Förderpreis. In 2014 he was invited to the International Gugak
Workshop in Seoul. Since 2014 he studies Daegeum with Yoo Hong in Berlin, where he
lives and works.
