Biography

The music of composer and pianist Mark Buller has been performed around the country and internationally, from Carnegie Hall to various venues on four continents. He has been commissioned by a wide range of organizations, including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Houston Grand Opera (for two 45-minute operas, an extended choral work, and numerous art songs), the Houston Symphony, and River Oaks Chamber Orchestra.

Winner of the Rapido! Composition Contest, the Vanguard Voices Choral Composition Competition, and the Sarofim Composition Award, his recent performances include Motion Studies by Boston Musica Viva, Voices of Change (Dallas), Atlanta Chamber Players, and Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings; The Songs of Ophelia by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and director Robert Spano; and Overboard, a 10-minute choral work commissioned by Houston Grand Opera. Upcoming performances include commissions from River Oaks Chamber Orchestra, mezzo-soprano Abigail Levis, and pianist Geraldine Ong.
