Biography

Ľuboš Bernáth studied composition at the Conservatory in Bratislava (with Stanislav Hochel). Afterwards he continued at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava with Evgeny Irshai. In 2009 he finished his doctoral studies (Ph.D.) of music theory with Ladislav Kačic. Currently he is a pedagogue (musical analysis, counterpoint, harmony) at the Department of music theory of Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. His works are regularly performed both at home at abroad (New Slovak Music, Melos-Ethos, Orfeus and others). Since 2008 he also teaches music theory and composition at the Bratislava Conservatory.
