Biography

Paulo Bastos was born in 1967, in Vila Pouca de Aguiar. He studied composition at the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo in Porto (Superior School of Music and Performance Arts). This Portuguese composer dedicates a great part of his work to chamber and children music, although his solo, orchestral and electronic production is also significant. His works have been performed, and some also recorded, by some of the best musicians and ensembles, in Portugal and abroad. His works have been published by the AVA Musical Editions, Association Bar&Co, APEM, Universidade do Minho and the Portuguese Music Research & Information Centre – MIC.PT.
