Biography

He studied piano and sonology at the Universidad de Humanidades y Artes de Rosario, Argentina. In Buenos Aires, Argentina, he specialized himself in contemporary music and founded the ensemble Hallowe’en.

In 1997 he continued his studies in the Netherlands where he studied composition at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Netherland, with Gilius van Bergeijk and Clarence Barlow.

Since 2001, Baroni has worked as a composer receiving numerous commissions and performances from among others The Barton Workshop, Slagwerkgroep Den Haag, Compagnie Bischoff, Maarten Altena Ensemble, VocaalLab, Asko Kamerkoor, Modelo62, Nieuw Ensemble (Netherlands), Piano Circus, (U.K.), Opera Nova Ensemble (Switzerland), Champ d’Action (Belgium), Ensemble Integrales (Germany), string quartet Prometeo (Italy), as well as writing for ensembles more unusual instrumentations for specific projects and festivals.

In 2003 he started to collaborate with the artist Fabian Marcaccio in various projects related to image and sound; among others festival Metronom in Barcelona (2004), AGO Modern Museum Toronto, Canada (2006) and PSWAR- Project Space, Muziekgebouw Theater, Amsterdam (2007 & 2008).

In 2008 he started to develop a series of experimental operas, three pieces, which will be united by the idea of collaboration between various mediums and will be created in a form of a laboratory. The first one named “Baltasar/Summer Manuevers” was premiere in October 2010 in Argentina and in Netherlands.

Other recent honors include an artistic residency fellowship from Civitella Ranieri Foundation in Umbertide, Italy,
