Biography

Xiang Ao comes from Cheng Du, Si Chuan, and China. He get master degree from composition department of Si Chuan Conservatory of Music, where He is working now. In 2004, He went to Austria, made a further study of composition from Professor Tibor Nemthe in Joseph Haydn Konservatorium of Austria. In 2013, He went to U.S, to get the Music Certificate Program from Dr.Marilyn Shrude in Bowling Green State University. His work The night of Kuo Shi Festival Won the first prize in Ba Shu Composition Competition; His work “The painting of Yi Nationality” for String Quartet won the Best works In the 17th Chinese Composition Competition; the work Changes won a third prize in Sun River Composition Competition; the works Mei Flower was performed respectively at Chinese International Contemporary Music Festival (Peking) in 2005, and Daegu 7th International Contemporary Music Festival in 2007. In October and November 2009 the string orchestra work Ge Sang Mei Duo was World Premiered in China and the United States. In January 2010, San Diego Symphony Orchestra and the University of Dayton University Symphony Orchestra commissioned the work, Sichuan folk song - Xiu He Bao for orchestra, getting a successful performance in the United States in March 2010. His work “lian Chen” for trio Won “IMHM Composition Competition” the 1st Prize In London Nava music festival.
