Biography

Aaron Alon’s music has been performed around the world, recorded on four labels, and awarded numerous national and international composition honors. Alon is a member of ASCAP and a past chapter president of Mu Phi Epsilon. Alon is an Associate Professor of Music at Lone Star College-CyFair, where he was named a 2014 Distinguished Faculty member. He is also the Director of the Composition program at the American Festival for the Arts (afatexas.org). Since 2009, Alon has also been highly active as a playwright, lyricist, and musical theatre composer. He is a founding board member of Thunderclap Productions (thunderclapproductions.com), a company dedicated to presenting new and underrepresented works, including a film version of Alon’s critically acclaimed musical BULLY (bullythemusical.com). Alon holds a DMA from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, an MM from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and a BA from the University of Chicago. Learn more at aaronalon.com.
