Biography

Frano Đurović – artistic advisor of 27th Music Biennale Zagreb – (Dubrovnik, 1971) graduated from the Zagreb Music Academy in the composition class of Professor Frano Parać, at which he now works as Associate Professor. His opus is shaped by his keen interest in electronic and electro-acoustic music as well as for the space of the multi-media discourse of the author’s clearly determined vision. He articulates the liveliness of the musical communication through the openness towards different artistic expressions (electronics, installations, theatre music and such). Đurović’s work is richly awarded (Rector’s Award of the Zagreb University, 2000), International Summer Academy Reichenau Award – Master class for composition, Austria 2002/03, Josip Štolcer Slavenski Award (2005) as well as Stjepan Šulek Award (2004). His compositions are interpreted by renowned performers. Since 2010, he is the artistic director of the Music Festival in Opatija.
