Biography

Viktorija Čop (1979, Zagreb) graduated in composition from the Zagreb Academy of Music. At Faculty of Music in Utrecht she obtained her master’s degree. Her oeuvre encompasses a variety of different styles and genres (more than 30 compositions for orchestra, chamber ensembles or electronics, theatre and visual (movie) projects), while her works, which have been performed both in Croatia and abroad, have earned her a number of awards: first awards in Bonn, Strasbourg and Zagreb (1998, 1999), third award for the compositions Out of mind for solo flute and Per quatro mani for bass clarinet and piano in Reichenau (2001), Rector's award of the Zagreb University (2003) etc. She began with teaching first as assistant teacher at the Academy of Arts Osijek (University of J. J. Strossmayer) and from 2010 as senior lecturer at Institute for Church music Zagreb.

The CD Viktorija Čop – Musical moments was published in 2011.
