Biography

The composer and pianistwas born in 1975 in Humenné, Slovakia. In 1998, she graduated with honors from the Slovak Academy of Performing Arts specializing in music theory. During her studies she took composition classes with Professor Dušan Martinček. She pursued her postgraduate studies in composition at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Professor Paul Patterson. During her studies at the RAM, she obtained two full scholarships and the Manson Bequest Prize. She continued her musical education with compositi­on courses lead by Robert Saxton, Thomas Adèse, Arvo Pärt and Harrison Birtwistle. She is represented by the prestigious Germany based. From 2010 till 2011 she was “Composer in residence” in Gera, Germany, where she successfully premiered her Violin concerto. At the Prague Spring Festival in May 2013, the renowned pianist Garrick Ohlsson premiered her work for solo piano commissioned by the Terezin Music Foundation. Her opera Dorian Gray was premiered as a part of the festival ISCM World New Music Days 2013 in Bratislava.
