This is a big festival, performing over 80 works of various genres such as symphony, chamber music, choral, folk instrumental performances with Western musical instruments... The Festivals achieved good results.

  • Please describe your organization's research activities over the past year:
In 2018, the professors who are members of VCMC collaborated with the Vietnam National Academy of Music, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, based on teaching experiences of many years in Composition, research and compilation of higher education curricula on music composition and have wrote: “University Teaching Curriculum on Composition” and “University Curriculum of Arrangement”. We have combined reative work like Composing with teaching, research. And some of members were published in specialized journals and presented in scientific conferences. Environmental issues in the process of training composers should be seriously mentioned too. Music composition is a continuous and persistent process, which need a lot of exploration and experiment so it is necessary to have a favorable musical environment. The students’ compositions must be echoed from the Piano by its own composers and then presented in the romance orchestras with accompaniment. For some experimental genres such as specific music (Concret) music or music mixes with electronic sounds, magnetic tapes... a studio is required for students to practice and experience the effects. Importantly, teachers, professors or music educators are those who decide the quality and development direction of young musician generation. They must be highly priviledged and have famous compositions as well as experiences in training in composition. Without such experienced senior musicians, the quality of training cannot be good enough. Concerning the importance of training composers, no composers, no musical works. The composition will be a source of nutrition for the “musical body” of a nation, a country, enriching the performances of symphony orchestras, Ballet Opera theaters, and Music Festivals as well as providing new musical works for Solo artists. The training of composers is closely related to the music life of the country. The strength or weakness of music of a nation depends first and foremost on composers and the next generations. Focusing on the training of composers also helps motivate other majors such as performance, conducting or theoretical research... Presenting at the music workshops, within the framework of festivals, music events: The 7th China - ASEAN Music Festival in Nanning, Guangxi, China, in May 5, 2018; The 35th Asian Composers League Conference and Festival in Taiwan, in October 19-23, 2018; The 5th International Festival of chamber and symphony music in Tashkent and Samarkand, Uzbekistan, in November 5 – 10, 2018; The Concert of Piano Music “Composers of Asia and Europe” at S.S. Prokofiev's Museum in Moscow, Russia, in November 12 – 14, 2018; The 3rd “Asia - Europe” New Music Festival” in Vietnam 2018, in November 24 – 28, 2018…
