  • Please describe your organization’s activities over the past year, including concerts, commissions, collaborations, publications: 

    In pursuing its mission of substantially contributing to the international visibility and projection of Portuguese music, the Miso Music Portugal and Portuguese Music Research & Information Centre - MIC.PT, have continued its main activities, and developed various new projects, including: 1. The organisation of international events (concerts, performances...) at the O'culto da Ajuda in Lisbon, including: the Música Viva Festival (https://www.facebook.com/musicavivafestivalmisomusicportugal/), concert cycles such as the "Percussão Extraordinária" (Extraordinary Percussion), concerts dedicated to children such as the "Contos Contados Com Som" (Sound-Told Fairy Tales; http://www.misomusic.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=13...), as well as other performances dedicated to improvisation and music combined with other artistic areas (for example "Mutabilis" by António de Sousa Dias and Paula Pinto); 2. The release of the monthly MIC.PT Newsletter (in Portuguese and English; http://mic.pt/noticias?where=8&what=1&lang=en), constituting a regular insight in the universe of Portuguese music - activities of composers, performers; announcements of important events dedicated to new music; novelties in the Portuguese new music discography; practical information for composers and musicians concerning courses and workshops, ...; 3. The substantial development of the MIC.PT Agenda (http://www.mic.pt/noticias?where=8&what=4&lang=pt), where it is possible to find the most relevant information - including dates, location, programme and performers - on the various events (concerts, performances, ...) dedicated to the music by Portuguese Composers from the 20th and 21st centuries; 5. Release of the new series of printed publications (in Portuguese and English) - "Portuguese, 20th and 21st Century Music Notebooks" - dedicated to the work of various Portuguese contemporary composers. Submission of the official Portuguese application for the ISMC World New Music Days 2017 in Canada, where Gonçalo Gato's piece "A Walk in the Countryside" was performed; 7. Regular production for the Portuguese National Radio - Antena 2 of the "Música Hoje" (Music Today; https://www.facebook.com/mmp.musica.hoje/) broadcast, dedicated to Portuguese new music.
