  • Please describe your organization’s activities over the past year, including concerts, commissions, collaborations, publications: 

    Pan II for flute solo of Seungwoo Paik (president of ISCM-Korea) was premiered by Yunhwa Song at Carneige Hall. The work is a musical series for solo instrument and First Pan was for clarinet, which was premiered and received praise at International Clarinet Association ClarinetFest in Texas in 1997. Also he participated Weimarer Fruehjahrestage fuer (Weimarer Contemporary Music Festival) with 3 other ISCM members; Iljo Lee, Deasup Han, and Eusil Kwon. Their works that contain traditional Korean sound were presented by Korean music ensemble: Goodmori.

    43th Pan Music Festival was held on September 1- 15, total 8 days. During the festival, 16 Concerts were presented in 4 Cities (Daejun, Daegu, Jeju, Seoul). Illinois wood quintet that consists of professors at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign was invited and covered two concerts that was filled wth new music. Kenneth Hesketh was invited as guest composer.

    Opus 1 (composition project for youth) was held on from July 18 to September 05 with slogan; “my first contemporary music”. More than 20 elementary school students were participated and followed composition curriculum total 8 weeks with professors.
