    47th INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL ENCUENTROS 2015 The Encuentros Foundation started promoting the contemporary music in Argentina in 1968. In 1979 – in the frame of the ISCM General Assembly in Athens – it was recognized officialy as Argentine Section. The Foundation has developed an intense activity since then, realizing from 1968 till now over 800 concerts, 100 Seminars devoted to composition, orchestra conducting and piano, 47 Composition Competitions rewarding the musical works of 300 Argentine composers and broadcasting 2000 radio auditions promoting the contemporary music. Likewise, during the 47 years of activities, the Encuentros Foundation co-organized with the IMC three Inter American meetings (Mexico, Cuba and Argentina) in which musicians from Latin America and the Caribbean participated actively. In 1978, the ensemble Grupo Encuentros was formed with the purpose of making known the most important musical works of the contemporary creation, as well as to premiere in its concert seasons the Argentine, Latin American and universal works promoting the XXth and XXIth centuries musical creation. The Grupo Encuentros has developed an intense annual concerts activity releasing the works written by Argentine, Latin American and universal composers through 32 international tours during which has offered over 320 concerts in important Festivals in the 5 continents. During the 2015 concerts season, the Encuentros Foundation organized the Encuentros Festival with 6 concerts in charge of pianists Lorenzo Soules and Aline Piboule (France) and Imri Talgam (Israel), all of them awarded in the International Competitions of Geneve (Switzerland) and Orleans (France), as well as the great French professor Françoise Thinat. The Grupo Encuentros offered a concert with 4 world premieres and the season was closed by mezzosoprano Marta Blanco with an extraordinary recital of songs. In the 2015 concerts season, the Encuentros Festival premiered works by Argentine composers Juan Maria Solare, Raffi Avakian, Francisco del Pino, Martin Matalon ; Arturo Corrales (El Salvador) and presented works by George Crumb, J.Combier, H. Dutilleux, H. Lachenman, Stephen Wirth, G. Benjamin, O. Messiaen, Y. Klartag, B. Ferneyhough, N. Furrer, G. Ligeti, M. Kagel, L. Berio. Likewise, Encuentros organized two International Piano Workshops led by pianists Luis Ascot and Françoise Thinat who worked with 30 young pianists from Argentina, Chile and Mexico. In 2015, the Encuentros Foundation organized the Argentine Tribune of Composers to select works to present before the World Music Days 2016. Six young composers were awarded, whose works were proposed to the WMDays organizers in Korea. The work selected was Francisco del Pino’s. The Encuentros Foundation organized extraordinary concerts with the pianists Imri Talgam, Aline Piboule and Lorenzo Soules in « Pro Arte » in the Province of Córdoba, « Musical Spring » in the Province of Tucumán
