temp'óra is issuing a new call for projects

 

 

 

 

In order to promote recently composed music scores, temp’óra is issuing a call for projects, period 2016-2017. It is aimed at composers and ensembles (instrumental and/or vocal) involved mainly in contemporary music. Applications form must be returned by 30 July 2015. Results: 30 September 2015. Directions for entries of projects to temp’óra (must be followed to be considered): In the text below, the performing part of the project is called ensemble (from two performers), and may incorporate electroacoustics. The pieces may also be of improvisational character.

 

 

EMC 5th European Forum on Music

 

 

 

 

2015/06/11-06/14 the 5th European Forum on Music which will be held in Riga, Latvia and co-hosted by the Latvian Music Council. The title of the next edition of the EMC annual conference is: Access to music is digital? and it will explore how new technologies facilitate the work of cultural institutions, how improved access to culture helps raise people’s interest in music, and explore the interplay between the digital world and ‘real’ life. I-Park, located in rural East Haddam, CT (U.S.), announces its 2015 multi-disciplinary artists-in-residence program. The program is open to composers and those working in the field of sound art/design/sculpture. Other creative disciplines represented: visual arts, architecture, moving image, creative writing and landscape/garden/ecological design. 2015/02/20 The Charlotte New Music Festival

 

 

 

 

The Charlotte New Music Festival is an intense workshop for composers, filled with private lessons, panel discussions, composition masterclasses, presentations, rehearsals, and public concerts. In the evenings, participating composers will have multiple opportunities to attend several other concerts and perform their music during a "New Music Open Mic Night" in a hip Charlotte music venue. During the festival, each composer will have the opportunity to have up to two pieces that will be professionally performed by world-class musicians.

 

 

2015/06/15 International Composition Competition Piero Farulli

 

 

 

 

In order to create a new repertoire for young string quartets, the Association Piero Farulli announces a competition open to all composers of the European Union for creating works of max 15 minutes duration, for string quartet (two violins, viola and cello). The jury will be composed by three distiguished musicians (one composer and two string instrument players), appointed by the artistic committee of the Association.

 

 

2015/02/16 Composition Academy/Festival Musica

 

 

 

 

An interactive course with two professional ensembles in partnership with the Strasbourg Conservatoire, the Haute école des arts du Rhin (HEAR), the University of Strasbourg, Musica festival. ; Composition teacher, Philippe Manoury, Hanspeter Kyburz With the ensembles: Linea (director, Jean-Philippe Wurtz) and Accroche Note. For a period of two weeks, the two teachers' work with the composers will take place in the form of individual and collective lessons, both practical and theoretical.

 

 

2015/02/27 Conlon Foundation Residency

 

 

 

 

In 2015 the Conlon Foundation is starting up a residency program for composers interested in working with the foundation's Yamaha Disklavier to create an imaginative composition for Disklavier solo with electronics, and/or for combinations with other media, with the option of using a pianist. Using alternative controllers, video, live sampling or the 'preparation' of the Disklavier are among the possible techniques to be utilized in the realization of the composer's artistic ideas.

LOOP Festival

 

 

 

 

2014/11/29-12/06 Initiated in 2008, the LOOP Festival takes place every year around the last week end of November. The concert progam aims at giving a showcase of the diversity of the music in the Belgian French-speaking community. « Loop », as its name suggests, dedicates a large part of its concerts to electronic music (acousmatic and live), as well as to giving second performances of existing pieces.
