music · dance · architecture LAB-Arts invites you to apply to a new summer program in music and dance, taking place in downtown Chicago in summer 2016. Centered on site-specific performances, the workshop will mix choreographers, dancers, composers, conductors, and musicians, to create new pieces inspired by Chicago’s vibrant architecture.

From 1 till 7 September 2016 (a week preceding the Muziekweek) the 3rd Gaudeamus Muziekweek Academy will take place. During the academy the five composers nominated for the Gaudeamus Award 2016 will work intensively with Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Ensemble Modelo62, Silbersee and Oerknal!. In addition to that, they will work on a new piece for Quatuor Bozzini and Oerknal!, both ensemble-in-residence.

The Aleph ensemble 8th International Forum for Young Composers

 

 

 

 

Scores, even if partial, should be sent before 30 November 2016 -– date as per postmark. The limit age is set at 40 years. The 4 composers whose piece has been selected, will be invited to a series of meetings-rehearsals-reflections as part of an 8 days’ residency in the Parisian region in April 2017, during which a recording will be made and at the end of which the works will be premiered. Their presence during the whole period is mandatory.

 

 

ICMC 2016, 42nd International Computer Music Conference

 

 

 

 

ICMC 2016, 42nd International Computer Music Conference will be hosted in the city of Utrecht, by HKU University of the Arts Utrecht, HKU Music and Technology and the annual new music festival Gaudeamus Muziekweek. The conference begins with a concert on the evening of Sunday 11 September 2016 and ends with a concert on the evening of Friday 16 September. The opening event of the conference will be the closing event of the Gaudeamus Muziekweek festival.
