['tactus], Young Composers' Forum

 

 

 

 

The seventh edition of ['tactus], Young Composers' Forum, will take place in Brussels and Mons, Belgium, from September 25th to 29th, 2017 under the presence of maestri Ann McKay, Jean-Paul Dessy, Kimmo Hakola, Claude Ledoux, and others to be confirmed. The first session, held in Brussels, Belgium from September 25th to 27th and with the collaboration of the Brussels Philharmonic, will feature writing for orchestra.

Malta International Choir Festival 2017

 

 

 

 

The Ministry for Tourism and the Malta Tourism Authority are pleased to announce that preparations are underway for the 23rd edition of the MALTA INTERNATIONAL CHOIR FESTIVAL that shall be held on the Mediterranean Island of Malta between 2nd and 5th November, 2017. The Festival has now become a mainstay in the Maltese musical calendar and so it is very much anticipated by all music lovers of the genre. Suffice to say that in each of the last editions, Malta hosted 800 international choristers.

 

 

Open Call – Forecast

 

 

 

 

From October 1 to November 30, 2016, creative minds from anywhere in the world working in vari- ous disciplines may submit their proposals. Forecast will invite 30 applicants to discuss their ideas and present them to the public at the HKW during the Forecast Forum from March 27 to April 1, 2017. At the end of the Forecast Forum, the six mentors will each select one concept, which they will accompany to fruition.

 

 

Tenso Young Composers Workshop 2016-2017

 

 

 

 

Composers under 30 (born in or after 1986), or composers who have recently (after 1 July 2013) received a degree in composition at a music academy or conservatory. The workshop is not restricted to European citizens, but non-European applicants should show a clear and sustainable connection to European music life. A jury will select five or six composers will be invited to join us in Amsterdam (the Netherlands) from 24 to 27 November 2016 for the Tenso Days Amsterdam.

3 new categories and various ensembles announced for Gaudeamus Award 2017 We are happy to announce that registration for the 2017 Gaudeamus Award is now open. This year there are many instrumentations to choose from, as well as an "open category" in order to stimulate the most creative and innovative pool of compositions as possible. Registration for the award starts 1 August 2016 and the deadline to submit your scores is 1 October 2016.

The Darmstadt Summer Course has existed for 70 years; it took place for the first time in 1946 at Kranichstein Hunting Lodge, before the gates of an utterly destroyed city. Seven decades of the Darmstadt Summer Course – which also means seven decades of shaping music history. The name of Darmstadt is associated with virtually all significant figures in contemporary music after 1945, as well as the aesthetic debates and sometimes vehement controversies about the present and future of composition.

For students of composition as well as young professionals impuls holds various moduls during its Academy, besides being a vivid meeting point for interaction with both young musicians, other young composers and professionals.
