Supported by Deutschlandradio Kultur and the kulturradio of the rbb, is on New Music. HAU Hebbel am Ufer is hosting three concerts with a total of five ensembles. They will provide a sonic space for the enormous variety of contemporary music – without aesthetic blinders and often in that transitional space to theatre, which is of particular interest today to many composers.

The artistic committee will assign 10 composers born after January 1st, 1983 with works written for:
1. vocal sextet: coloratura soprano, lyric soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, baritone, basssolo instrument and live electronics
2. solo instruments: flute (also piccolo, alto), B flat clarinet (also bass clarinet), tenor trombone (also alto, bass), piano, viola electronics: the software used will be Max/MSP.

2018 Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival

 

 

 

 

The deadline is Tuesday, January 9. 2018 at 5pm EST. The dates for the 2018 Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival at MASS MoCA are July 9-29. We welcome applicants from all over the globe who are at least 21 years old as of the first day of the festival. Performance applicants, please note that we encourage a diversity of instruments, including voice. You do not have to play an instrument included on our faculty to attend the program, as the focus is on chamber music, not individual study.

Composing in the Wilderness

 

 

 

 

On behalf of the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival (Alaska, USA) I’m delighted to announce the 2018 offering of "Composing in the Wilderness". Now in its seventh year, this one-of-a-kind creative adventure for composers is presented in collaboration with Alaska Geographic and the National Park Service of the USA. It is led by adventurer-composer Stephen Lias.
