Malta International Choir Festival Composition Competition





In 2017, the Ministry for Tourism and the Malta Tourism Authority will be holding another edition of the Malta International Choir Festival between 2 and 5 November. As part of the structural components of the festival the organising committee is pleased to launch the 2nd edition of the Malta International Festival Composition Competition. The aim of this competition is to choose the best composition that will be performed and recorded during the festival.



Open Call – Forecast





From October 1 to November 30, 2016, creative minds from anywhere in the world working in vari- ous disciplines may submit their proposals. Forecast will invite 30 applicants to discuss their ideas and present them to the public at the HKW during the Forecast Forum from March 27 to April 1, 2017. At the end of the Forecast Forum, the six mentors will each select one concept, which they will accompany to fruition.



Tenso Young Composers Workshop 2016-2017





Composers under 30 (born in or after 1986), or composers who have recently (after 1 July 2013) received a degree in composition at a music academy or conservatory. The workshop is not restricted to European citizens, but non-European applicants should show a clear and sustainable connection to European music life. A jury will select five or six composers will be invited to join us in Amsterdam (the Netherlands) from 24 to 27 November 2016 for the Tenso Days Amsterdam.

This year there are many instrumentations to choose from, as well as an "open category" in order to stimulate the most creative and innovative pool of compositions as possible. International Composition Prize “Michele Novaro”. First edition, 2016





A new composition competition dedicated to the composer of the Italian National Anthem is launched for young musicians, centered on the identity and spirit of our country. The Competition is open to composers of all nationalities, who on 30 September 2016 are still under the age of 30. Candidates should submit to the jury a composition for Ensemble (from 7 to 15 players), lasting between 7 and 10 minutes, which is inspired by the values and themes of the Italian constitution.
