Composers' Competition

the 38th Young Composer Competition, 2017, Frederic Mompou International Award





Any composer who is not over 35 years of age on December 31, 2017 can participate in this competition. The works must be completely unknown. They must not have been previously performed, published or disseminated in any way or in any computer sound file. The musical formation this year is for Trio for clarinet, cello and piano. The style and scoring methods of the work are completely unrestricted. The recommended duration is between 10 and 18 minutes.

The Fourth International Composition Contest for Acoustic Instrument and electroacoustic device Sampo





MusInfo is pleased to announce the fourth edition of the International composition contest for acoustic instrument and electroacoustic device Sampo. With this initiative MusInfo proposes to open a new space intended to uphold the work of contemporary composers and sound artists in the field of “live-electronic” music. Composers are invited to write a short study of 2 to 4 minutes maximum. The electroacoustic device is represented by the software P-Soft supplied by MusInfo. Deadline March 30, 2017.



The Delian Academy for New Music





The Delian Academy for New Music is excited to collaborate with Oerknal, a collective of young professional musicians based in The Netherlands. Selected composers can submit a new or existing piece to be performed in Grypario Concert Hall in Mykonos. The available instrumentation is flute, clarinet, piano, violin and violoncello. Any combination, from solo to quintet with or without electronics is welcome.

The WDR (Westdeutscher Rundfunk) and the Institute for New Music at the University of Music and Dance Cologne are again looking for student compositions to be presented during the Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik 2017. The works will be performed on the first day of the festival (Friday, May 5th 2017) by musicians of the Internationale Ensemble Modern Akademie. There is no age limit for participation, but you have to be registered at a university (please send a photo/scan of your student ID).
