The Giga-Hertz Award





The Giga-Hertz Award comprises a total of two special awards for electronic and acousmatic music. Their goal is to initiate and support new projects. Candidates are judged on the basis of a composition not more than five years old and a proposal for a projected work. The focus of the Special Prizes is to honor a work, and not a person. Uncaged::Conlon Robot Keyboard Prize 2017





This year, for the first time, Gaudeamus collaborates with the UnCaged Toy Piano (US) and Conlon Foundation (NL) on a joint call for submissions for the 2017 Robot Keyboard Prize. We are seeking adventurous compositions for Ranjit Bhatnagar's midi-controlled Robot Toy Piano, for which we encourage innovative ways of integrating electronics. The prize for 1st place is a performance at the Gaudeamus Muziekweek in Utrecht and a performance at the UnCaged Toy Piano Festival in New York!

The Gipuzkoa Provincial Council announces the 14th Pablo Sorozabal international Musical Composition Contest.


The words should be written for string quartet. The style and technique of the work shall be open.

The Contest is open to all composers born after 1 January 1982 of any nationality and from anywhere.

The composition shall not be longer than twenty minutes in length.

The Orchestre des Pays de Savoie and the Orchestre d’Auvergne are organizing a composition contest for the creation of a participative piece for amateur singers. This will be a short piece for string orchestra and amateur singers. This contest is inviting composers of all nationalities and aged up to 40 years old at the due date of registrations.








The BERLINER OPERNPREIS will provide the opportunity to produce a half-hour piece of music theater under the motto TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT! at the expenses of those presenting the prize with a world premiere production in Berlin.
