Open Call for Scores 

The Asian Composers Showcase was launched in 2013 by the Goethe-Institut together with the Tongyeong International Music Festival (TIMF), to promote the composition of New Music in North East Asia. For six years now, a total of twenty-five compositions by promising young composers have been premiered at TIMF.   








Euskal Herriko Txistulari Elkartea calls for the Txistu Composition Contest 2018.

The objective of the contest is to promote the creation of pieces for txistu or its instrumental family.

The works must be composed for a maximun of six musicians. At least one of those, must use  a txistu or one of its instrumental family.

Closing date will be 1st September 2018.








HAUSPOZ Euskal Herriko Akordoei Elkartea, calls for the XI International Accordion Composition Competition "Francisco Escudero" whose prize ceremony will be held on 15 of September 2018.


The objective of the contest is to promote the creation of pieces for solo accordion and for accordion in chamber music.

The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music Budapest as the founder of the Bartók World Competition announces the Competition for composers to create piano solo pieces according the following guidelines:
Δ The works should give pianists the opportunity to show both their musical and technical abilities.
Δ Length of composition: 5-6 mins.
Δ The composition cannot include use of fixed audio media. Δ The composition cannot include extended techniques.

1. vocal sextet: coloratura soprano, lyric soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, baritone, basssolo instrument and live electronics
2. solo instruments: flute (also piccolo, alto), B flat clarinet (also bass clarinet), tenor trombone (also alto, bass), piano, viola electronics: the software used will be Max/MSP.



USA International Harp Composition Contest





As part of its mission to promote harp and harp music, the USA International Harp Competition sponsors a Composition Contest that occurs every three years, prior to the performance Competition. Composers are invited to submit new works for solo harp. A distinguished panel of harpists plus one composer select the winning composition. Instrumentation: Solo harp (Other instruments may be included if played by the harpist. Electronics are permitted if no additional personnel are required. Deadlines: October 15, 2018.

• The composition should be written for one piano (solo or for more than one pianist), and can include all facets of the instrument. • It is of great importance that the pieces be appropriate in their level of difficulty for children / young adults and be suitable for pedagogical use. Therefore the pianistic difficulties and musical challenges should be conceived with children / young adults in mind. • The score is expected to be comprehensible and clear. Instructions for performance must be written in German or English.
