The Beethovenstiftung für Kunst und Kultur der Bundesstadt Bonn (Beethoven Foundation for Art and Culture of the Federal City of Bonn) has announced the appointment of Dutch artist Edwin van der Heide to be city sound artist bonn 2015. In the framework of the project bonn hoeren, the only one of its kind world-wide, the Beethovenstiftung Bonn has awarded an artistic project residency to a renowned sound artist for the sixth year running. Edwin van der Heide is among the most prominent and successful sound artists active on the international scene today.

 

 

2nd International competition for harpsichordists and composers 2015

 

 

 

 

2nd International competition for harpsichordists and composers 2015 will take place from May 26 – 30th 2015. The Foundation Annelie de Man organizes in cooperation with the Orgelpark in Amsterdam Netherlands a competition for composers and harpsichordists to promote and support contemporary harpsichord repertoire.

We are very happy to announce the six finalists for the composer competition 2015. The finals will take place between 26th-30th May 2015 in Het Orgelpark, Amsterdam.

ANNA KORSUN WINS GAUDEAMUS PRIZE 2014

 

 

 

 


Yesterday, after the closing concert of the Gaudeamus Muziekweek 2014, the winner of the Gaudeamus Prize 2014 was announced. From the five nominees, the international jury unanimously chose Anne Korsun (1986) from Ukraine. The members of the jury, consisting of Vanessa Lann, Wim Henderickx, and Oscar Bianchi felt the entries were varied and of high quality. About the winning composition the jury said:

At a final meeting in April 2013 a jury consisting both of composers and musicians selected five composers: Wojtek Blecharz (*1981, Poland), Ashley Fure (*1982, USA), Marco Momi (*1978, Italy), Brigitta Muntendorf (*1982, Germany), Davor Branimir Vincze (*1983, Croatia).These composers will take part in the upcoming impuls Composition Workshop in Vienna and Graz with Klangforum Wien coming along with commissions to write new pieces for ensemble, that will be premiered

The Second Round of the International Composers’ Competition “WINDSTREAM 2014” has concluded. According to the Competition Regulations, six compositions have advanced to the Final Round, which will take place on April 19, 2014 at the Riga Great Guild Hall at 7PM. The jury of the Second Round and the Final Round consists of composer and conductor Jan Van der Roost (Belgium), composer and conductor Franco Cesarini (Switzerland), composer Toshio Mashima (Japan), conductor Mārtiņš Ozoliņš and composer Andris Dzenītis (Latvia).
